Grade Two’s Adventure

Yesterday, the grade 2 students practiced being true IB students on their tour through Chinatown and visit to the Vancouver Police Museum. They followed a map to find some interesting places in an incredibly remarkable community. We started at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen’s Classical Chinese Garden, then found some people practicing Tai Chi, followed by the Han Dynasty Bell, the Millennium Gate, Winds of Change Mural, the worlds narrowest building (the Sam Kee building is only 6 feet wide!), the Memorial Monument for the Canadian Chinese people who died in WWII, and finally we ended at the plaza in the Floata Seafood Restaurant. The students were true risk takers, trying many different Dim Sum dishes and of course attempting to use chop sticks! They were open-minded and very principled on the street, in the restaurant and at the Police Academy. They were complimented by several for being the most well behaved students they had ever seen. Well done, grade 2.
